It is dark.
The heavenlies and a small green light on my cap lead the way.
There is something so full in my being as I enter the deer blind...a blind built on an old International pickup bed.
Now a quiet and still waiting game, drinking in the majesty of it all.
A developing light begins very slowly to appear.
It is the breath of dawn.
Soon, two feet away, tiny birds flit from twig to twig. Then a crow or three let loose their caws. The squirrels begin their chatter.
More waiting, more wonder.
Rest my heart, there she is.
I give thanks and honor to the doe for giving her life to sustain mine.
And I give thanks and honor to God for providing a year's supply of meat.
And for His Peace.
John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
