God has given us eyes, ears and hearts to be filled
with the awe of His natural creation.
Especially the light.
Light on our chosen subjects to paint
and light in our being.
ellum branch
A branch runs around my place.
A branch that surrounds it on three sides
and then runs into Elm Creek.
The oldtimers used to pronounce it like ellum.
"we need to cut down that ellum tree today".
Thus the name for this valley spot was born.
It is a beloved homeplace with daily outside adventures, whether building, caring for animals, hiking the woods or being in communion with our Good Shepherd. Of course, a good fire is always welcomed in the winter.
